Here’s a list of upcoming veteran events and holidays in eastern Massachusetts from the New Bedford Veterans’ Advisory Board. New Bedford events in bold.

Oct. 31. Veterans with Disabilities Virtual Career Fair 1-4 p.m. Register www.veteranrecruiting.com. A groundbreaking recruiting event that will connect industry leading employers with veterans with service-related disabilities nationwide in one day. WHY VIRTUAL? It brings the career fair to you. Nov. 4. Operation Military Smiles Second Annual Toy Collection Fall River, MA Organized by local Gold Star families. 1 to 5 p.m. at the Liberal Club, 20 Star St. Please bring unwrapped toys for boys and girls of all ages (there is a greater need for gifts for older boys). Monetary donations are also accepted and are tax-deductible.

Nov. 6. Fall Veterans Job Fair at the New Bedford Career Center. See attached Flyer!

Nov. 6. Fallen Heroes Food Drive Fall River, MA Voters are asked to bring non-perishable items to all polls in Fall River (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) to help the Veterans Association of Bristol County food pantry on Pine Street. All the food for this third annual drive will be distributed to the vet’s center food pantry.

Nov. 6 – Nov. 7. Nov. 11. New Bedford Veterans Day Parade New Bedford, MA New Bedford’s annual parade honoring our veterans forms at 9:30 a.m. and steps off at 10:00 a.m., proceeding down Union St. to Wings Court downtown. Ceremony at Wings Court.

Nov. 11. New Bedford Military Museum Open House New Bedford, MA Open house at the museum. Our veterans’ program will begin at 1:00 p.m. and feature speakers Tom and Peter Clark.

Nov. 11. Town Veterans Day Parade Fairhaven, MA Main Street from Oxford School South to Fairhaven High School. Veterans invited to fall in at Livesey Park at 9:00 a.m. Ceremony follows at Fairhaven High School. 508-979-4085, fairhaventours.blogspot.com.

Nov. 11. Free Veterans Day Cruise Quincy/Boston, MA Sunday, November 11th, 2012 From Quincy Shipyard at 10:15am, returning 2:30pm, Also departing from Long Wharf Boston at 11:00am returning 2:00pm. Nov. 15. Veterans Transition House Fundraiser New Bedford, MA Join the VTA for a celebration of the South Coast Veteran of the Year with cocktails and dinner. This fundraiser for New Bedford veterans in need of assistance will take place at Hawthorne Country Club. Cocktails, 6 pm, Dinner 7 pm.
