City of New Bedford Services Update – October 30th, 2012

The City of New Bedford is reminding residents of the following closures and changes to City services:

New Bedford City Offices Closed Today

City Offices remain closed today, Tuesday, October 30, 2012.  Closures include City Hall, all public libraries, all Senior Centers, and the Buttonwood Park Zoo.  Only City employees designated as essential should report to work.

New Bedford Public Schools Closed Today

New Bedford Public Schools, including after-school and night programs, remain closed today, Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

SRTA Services Operating Normally

As of 6:30 this morning, the Southeastern Regional Transit Authority returned to operating on its normal fixed-route weekday schedule.  SRTA on-demand services resumed normal operations at 8:00 a.m. this morning.  Residents may call SRTA at 508-999-5211 for questions about SRTA services.

New Bedford Regional Airport Has Announced Flight Cancellations Today

All scheduled airline flights at New Bedford Regional Airport have been cancelled today, Tuesday, October 30.  Passengers should check with their airline concerning flights scheduled for Wednesday, October 31.  The Airport remained open throughout the storm.

Trash Collection Resumes Tomorrow, But Schedule Is Delayed By Two Days This Week

Trash collection will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, October 30, but the pick-up schedule for this week is delayed by two days.  For example, if your trash is normally collected on Monday, it will be collected on Wednesday this week.  If your trash is normally collected on Tuesday, it will be collected on Thursday this week, and so on…
