Snow forecast for New Bedford’s commute on Friday morning

A four-letter word for some, a delight for others: snow. That is the forecast for parts of Massachusetts on Friday morning’s commute.

While most of us in Massachusetts are alright with snow, many are not happy when it comes a bit earlier than expected – we usually don’t see our first snowfall until late November.

According to AccuWeather and other weather sources, temperatures are forecasted to drop into the 20s overnight Thursday and the rain will slowly switch over to snow as the morning commute begins, creating slippery, dangerous walking and driving conditions. You’ll want to be extra cautious driving and lay down some salt and/or sand for your walkways.

Is your lower back groaning in anticipation of the coming shoveling? Fear not: the accumulations will not be of the “gotta get bread and milk” kind. Forecasts are for a coating with up to an inch or two in some spots. By midday on Friday temperatures will reach 39 degrees and by evening the storm will have passed.
