New Bedford’s Mayor Mitchell orders flags lowered to half staff to honor U.S. Representative John Lewis

Mayor Jon Mitchell has ordered that flags at all City-owned buildings will be lowered to half staff beginning Tuesday, July 28, during the memorial services for U.S. Representative John Lewis, in honor of the Congressman’s long career in public service and his deep commitment to equality and prominent role in the civil rights movement in the United States.

Flags will remain at half staff until Congressman Lewis is interred Thursday, July 30.
