Wareham Police charge motorcyclist after allegedly finding Fentanyl after accident

On Tuesday, July 21 at about 3:35 p.m. Wareham Police received reports of a motorcycle accident on Glen Charlie Road. Wareham Police Officer Michael Phinney arrived and observed an injured 27-year-old East Wareham man being treated by an off-duty firefighter paramedic.

It appeared that the man had been operating a dirt-bike, colliding head-on with a vehicle traveling north on Glen Charlie Road. He was transported to the hospital by Wareham EMS, and the accident remains under investigation by Wareham Police Officers Hannah Salerno and Jennifer Braley.

The operator of the dirt-bike, Nicholas Cranmer (27), of East Wareham, is being summoned to court on multiple charges by Officer Salerno. The offenses are as follows;

• Negligent operation of a motor vehicle so as to endanger.
• Failure to stay in marked lanes.
• Operation after suspension of driver’s license.
• Operating an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle.
• Possession of a class “A” drug.

While at the scene police officers located suspected Fentanyl in a backpack belonging to Mr. Cranmer.
