“On August 12th at approximately 8:00pm, patrol and marine officers responded to a call for a person floating in the water near the Merrow’s wharf and the state pier.
The victim was removed from the water and life-saving measures were initiated. The victim was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
Detectives from NBPD and MSP are further investigating as is customary, however, no foul play is suspected at this point.”-New Bedford Police Department.
