Driver crashes into utility pole and parked car on Sawyer Street in New Bedford

There was an accident last night around 8:38pm on Sawyer Street near Belleville Ave. Witnesses on the scene report the driver of the renal van “nodded off” then crashed into the parked car and pole, but fled the scene.

New Bedford police report that utility workers were called in to repair wires damaged from the accident. No injuries reported and police are still investigating.
