After 8 years of planning and 13 months since breaking ground the 9 unit veteran affordable housing facility on Route 6 in Dartmouth is complete! Some of the veterans are moving into the facility from their cars or off the street. Rent will be based on 30 percent of their income.

Here’s Dartmouth Housing Authority executive director Constance Desbiens this past Saturday opening the doors with so many of the people that helped make affordable housing for local veterans a reality.

This video was sponsored by La-Z-Boy of North Dartmouth who donated 9 chairs to the O’Connor-Sisson House, along with $3000 to the Veterans’ Transition House of New Bedford.
