New Bedford Wellness Program For Adults (10:00am)

2017 St. George Greek Food Festival (11:00am-5:00pm)
It’s that time of year! The three day long Greek festival is coming. Delicious Greek meals, handmade Greek pastries, Greek dance performances, Greek wine & beer, Greek music, church tours, FREE parking and admission, and more. Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, 186 Cross Road, Dartmouth, MA.

A whole day of fun activities!!

DA Quinn’s Free Family Field Day Sunday at UMass Dartmouth (11:00am-3:00pm)
The annual event, which is being co-sponsored by Kia of Dartmouth and Taunton Federal Credit Union, includes dozens of fun outdoor family activities for people of all ages to enjoy. The Free Family Field Day will feature a rock climbing wall, a petting zoo, food tents, contests that will test your skills in popular sports, a 64 foot inflatable obstacle course, potato sack and three-legged races, hula hoop contests, tug of wars, dizzy bat races, a giant volleyball game and so much more. There will also be numerous resource stations and informational tables set up from dozens of local organizations. At UMass Dartmouth’s Cressy Field, 285 Old Westport Road in North Dartmouth.

NBx2: The New Bedford Neighborhood Bus Tour (1:30pm-6:00pm)
Get on the bus for a fresh look at some of the people, places and ideas that drive New Bedford forward. We’ll start downtown and then hit the North, West, and South End neighborhoods in a chartered bus with tour guides, Mark Fuller of the New Bedford Preservation Society and Carl Simmons of the Friends of the New Bedford Free Public Library. Meet at beautiful Grace Episcopal Church beginning at 1:30 p.m. and take the opportunity to discover this architectural gem before boarding the bus at 2:00 p.m.

Our first stop will be a surprise destination in the North End. Find out what it is by clicking “Join” or “interested” on this event page. We’ll announce it the week before we roll! Back on the bus, the next stop is United House of Prayer for All People’s Soul Food Kitchen in the West End at 419 Kempton Street. Here, you’ll want to grab some lunch at their delicious cafeteria-style, weekend pop-up eatery.

Learn about all the medicinal herbs in your own backyard!

The South End’s Youth Opportunities Unlimited on Brock Avenue is the final neighborhood stop before returning downtown for a rooftop social at Slainte Irish Pub on Union Street. There’s no cost to ride (food and drink are your own choice) but you need to secure your seat now at the Eventbrite link with a RSVP as only a very limited number are available!

The Medicinal Herbs of New England (3:00pm-4:30pm)
Join Jenny Hauf, owner of Muddy River Herbalist, for an introduction to the world of New England’s medicinal herbs. Learn about herbs found wild in our fields, forests, and lawns, as well as the many plants that thrive in our gardens. Come on out to one of New Bedford’s best kept secrets for an afternoon of lore and an armful of practical know-how for your medicine cabinet.

Register online to pay in advance and secure your spot. Payment accepted on the day of program, if space available. Member $9; Nonmember $15.
