PERFECT weekend ahead in terms of weather. We’ll be locked at a high of 80 degrees all weekend with lows of around 60 degrees. No rain whatsoever and only a few clouds on Friday. So now you have absolutely no excuse to hit the road anjoy the goings-on all over the South Coast and beyond!

Friday, August 8th

Sunset Music Series: Blues Train (Westport) (6:00pm-8:00pm)
It’s a picnic style event, and attendees may bring their own food or enjoy a variety of delicacies from Compton Clambakes & Catering and once again a raw bar will be provided by Cuttyhunk Shellfish Farms. Don’t forget a blanket, chairs, bug spray, glasses and a cork screw. Admission is $10 per carload (Buses are $30) and beer, wine and local food will be served for a fee. The event is weather permitting and NO ALCOHOL MAY BE BROUGHT TO THE EVENT.

New Bedford Summer Sound Series – The Oh Nos (Beatles Tribute Band) – 6-8pm)
The Oh Nos!! – A Beatles tribute band that plays all the classic Beatles tracks like “All you need is love” and “Hello Goodbye.

Painting with a Splash: Palm on the Beach & Lighthouse (7:00pm)
Welcome to Painting with a Splash Where you are the artist! Painting with a Splash is the newest addition to Historic Whaling City Downtown New Bedford. Bringing you an experience of art as entertainment. Add a little wine (BYOB) that will surely tap into your creative side. With step by step instruction and a little music, you and your friends will create the evenings featured painting with a splash of your own uniqueness. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Just a desire to have fun.


Saturday, August 9th

Silverbrook ACUSHNET Country Store (9:00am-8:00pm)
SWEET CORN HAS ARRIVED! The Silverbrook Country Store is the home of The Pereia Bread Co. (a tasty little division of Silverbrook Farm) where they make their Famous Pies and Breads, as well as jams, sauces and other great food products. It is also the home of their Farm Stand that is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday. Silverbrook Country Store also has a wonderful and unique line of crafts including their popular candle/potpourri items and a great selection of handmade Amish items that truly make great gifts for any occasion.

Edaville’s Berenstain Bears Weekend (10:00am-5:00pm)
Meet the internationally loved original Treehouse Family. The Berenstain bear family will be out on our event field for some great photo opportunities. Special box-lunches will be available in KC’s Café so you and your family can picnic in the field with them. These special days include unlimited use of the park and a 20 minute train ride through the picturesque woodlands and cranberry bogs. All rides and attractions are included in general park admission, so guests will be able to visit Dinoland and also enjoy unlimited use of all park amusements.

The 7th Annual Art Drive (Dartmouth) (10:00am-5:00pm)
Open studio event to feature “Flippin’ Flounder” exhibit along outdoor route through Dartmouth Westport. Featuring 36 artists from Dartmouth and Westport in a variety of media. For more information visit www.the-art-drive.com.
