SCIL’s First Annual Softball Tournament and Family Fun Day at Cushman Field in Fairhaven, MA. Bring the family down for a day of fun, we will have mini golf, food trucks, live music, face painting, and a huge raffle with great prizes. SCIL is also excited to have partnered with the Pawtucket Red Sox for a meet and greet with the PawSox mascot at the event at 1:00 pm. Scanning Day at the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center (10:00am-12:00pm)
We invite the public to bring their fishing related photographs, both historic and contemporary, as well as documents such as settlement sheets, union books, or news clippings to be scanned. NBFHC staff and volunteers will scan your materials and record any information you share about what you bring. You will leave with your originals along with a digital copy on a flash drive. We are working to create a digital archive of these materials which will be made available to researchers and the public. These documents will help us to tell the story of the fishing industry. This event is free and open to the public. New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center, 38 Bethel Street, New Bedford.
6th Annual Carl Pacheco Memorial Golf Tournament (Acushnet) (11:00am-1:00pm)

Gallery X Presents The Art of Scott Carola (5:00pm-8:00pm)
Scott Carola is a lifelong resident of New Bedford. Over the past several years he has re-ignited his passion for artwork and honed his skills as a pencil artist, working in graphite, colored pencil and pastel. He is a former corrections officer of the old Ash St. Jail, and current Detective Lieutenant of the New Bedford Police Department.
“The Story Thus Far” is a show about just that; a retrospective of the last 5 years with original works he refuses to part with and prints of fan favorites that earned him the following he has today.
