Whaling City Diner Announces That Its Closing Its Doors

Rumors posted in several community groups yesterday were confirmed today by various local media outlets: The Whaling City Diner is closing at the end of the week. The diner first opened in 2011 and has served tens of thousands of happy customers. We wish ownership well with their future ventures, they will be missed!

With the closing of The Vault (Greasy Luck) last week, conversation online has predictably turned to gloom and doom for the downtown area. Are these isolated events or the start of a larger trend?
