“At approximately 9:09 pm last night, Engine 3 out of the Weir Fire Station, was dispatched to the West Water Street boat ramp for a report of a vehicle that was unable to get up the ramp.

Upon arrival, members of both the TFD and TPD found a Chevy Silverado almost entirely submerged in the Taunton River. At this time everyone was confirmed to be out of the vehicle.

East Coast Towing, who arrived on scene in near-record time, was able to provide some expertise and assist Firefighters Kiel Fernandes and Jared Jackson to quickly stabilize the vehicle with on-scene resources before the current was able to take it away further.

Great job by Firefighters Fernandes and Jackson, the TPD and East Coast Towing for their ability to skillfully extract the truck, trailer and boat without any further damage or injuries!” -Taunton Firefighters IAFF Local 138.
