Sturbridge Fire Department responds to bus engulfed in flames on Massachusetts Turnpike

“Bus fire on the Mass pike westbound MM 79. Group 1 with the help of call back staff made a quick stop. The bus fire happened Saturday on I-90 west near Mile Marker 78.2 in Sturbridge.

Thankfully the bus driver recognized the danger quickly and got all passengers off without any injuries. Massachusetts State Police car 2 and Engine 2 still stayed on scene waiting on clean up crews.

• Engine one 1st due
• Tanker 1 water supply
• Engine 2 and car 2 arrived to provide man power.

The bus was owned by New Travel Transportation, an Avon-based company.” -Sturbridge Fire Department.
