Official statement from city regarding setting out pumpkins for composting

image_pdfimage_print

Pumpkins can be set out as yard waste with your raked-up leaves. This way they break down into compost, rather than sit in the landfill. If you are cooking your pumpkin, you can compost leftover scraps, like the stem & rind. Set pumpkins curbside by 7 a.m. the day after trash/recycling day, in a paper yard waste bag or loose in a barrel (not a city cart).
