“At approximately 2:30pm on Tuesday a 911 call was received by the Regional Old Colony Communications Center reporting a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of North Ave and Snipatuit Rd involving a car versus a motorcycle.

Chief 190, Rescue 207 and Engine 193 were first to arrive and found the operator of the motorcycle had been ejected from the bike and was found underneath another vehicle.

Using the Holmatro battery-operated spreaders, commonly known as the Jaws of Life, Firefighters were able to quickly lift the vehicle and extricate the patient from underneath. Paramedics on scene were then able to rapidly package the patient up and transport them to St. Luke’s Hospital Trauma Center in New Bedford.

The patient was in critical but stable condition. There were no other injuries reported at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the Rochester Police Department, MA, who also assisted at the scene with traffic control and patient care.” -Rochester Fire Department.
