“I live on Main St and the speeding over here by the church right before entering Acushnet is out of control. I live right across the street and sit on my porch and it’s scary, especially the trucks coming from PJ Keating going 50 to 60 mph. I’m surprised no one has got killed yet or maybe someone has, I don’t know but it deeply concerns me and I am concerned for my pregnant wife and 7-year old daughter.
When I back out of my driveway people are going so fast that they speed around me into the other lane blowing their horn and some even flip me or my wife off.
Just last night I was woken by some Honda type “fast and furious” car that sounded like a weedwhacker on steroids with horrible loud music blasting. I’m one for loud rock & roll but at an appropriate respectable time. I got up and sat on the porch and smoked a butt and not 2 minutes later the same car came flying up the road traveling north at least 70 mph with all four doors open and the driver, passenger, and back seat passengers all had their feet hanging out of the doors. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Funny thing is that I see Fairhaven PD parked in the church parking lot all the time yet never see them pull anybody over, ever. Cars speed right by with a cop sitting right there and nothing. I don’t get it. I’m sure I can get some great video footage of vehicles thinking Main St is 195.”
