New Bedford’s Parallel Products proposes building, operating, a trash transfer station in the city

We are writing to let you know about an important community meeting being held next week by Parallel Products (now doing business as South Coast Renewables) regarding their proposal to build and operate a trash transfer station in the Business Park, at 100 Duchaine Blvd.

We strongly urge you to attend this meeting, so you can learn more about the project and share your concerns. This will be an important and unique opportunity to get your questions answered directly by the company. Please also bring anyone you think may want to attend.

CURRENT PROPOSAL WOULD ENTAIL:

• 24-hour-a-day waste processing at the facility
• 190-278 truck/trailer round-trips per day to/from the facility, carrying up to 1,500 tons of mixed solid waste from other communities
• Truck leachate will leak toxic chemicals onto the road and into the ground
• Health-affecting pollutants will be produced/emitted into the community from the waste, trucks, and facility

Please attend this community meeting to learn more, ask questions, and voice your concerns about the trash transfer station proposed for 100 Duchaine Blvd.
