New Bedford man arrested for breaking and entering; stealing grill

On Saturday afternoon at approximately 1:30pm Officer Dominique Sherburne was dispatched to the 400 block of County St. regarding a suspicious male in the area. A neighbor had observed the suspect coming out of a rear yard carrying a box containing a propane grill. The neighbor spoke to the homeowner and learned that a glass pane to a door had been broken at the rear of the house. The grill had been stolen from the basement.

The homeowner followed the suspect where he was taken into custody in the area of Bedford and County Streets by Officer Kurtis Gonsalves. Officer Scott Conceicao retraced his steps and found the grill hidden in a yard nearby. The suspect was positively identified by the neighbor.

Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court; David Vincent age 54 of New Bedford. He is facing charges of Breaking and Entering in the daytime and larceny in a building.
