Due to the frigid temperatures, the City of New Bedford has asked for Mercy Meals and More to open the emergency shelter at 634 Purchase Street in New Bedford on Friday, January 16th, 2015. Shelter opens at 8pm.

Volunteers are needed from 8-12pm to make sandwiches and help in the kitchen. Supplies needed include sandwich meat, condiments, soda, snacks, and soup. If you can donate anything, the shelter building opens at 8pm and drop-offs can be done anytime after 8pm. Contact Pete Wilde at 978-866-9499 if you can help.
