New Bedford Symphony Orchestra now accepting applications for scholarship

The deadline for returning applications is looming!

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the 2015 Lillian B. Lamoureux Scholarship. The scholarship, named for former NBSO board president and now president emerita Lillian B. Lamoureux, was established in 2000 to support young musicians who intend to pursue their music education. Candidates must be music students ages 14-21 from South Coast. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded: a Junior scholarship will go to a high school student and a Senior scholarship will be awarded to a college student.

The deadline for application, including two letters of recommendation, is Friday, April 10, 2015. Finalists will be invited to audition before the scholarship committee on Saturday, April 18. For an application, please call the NBSO at 508-999-6276 or visit www.nbsymphony.org.

The NBSO is a professional orchestra that annually presents a 7-concert series of classical and pops music with prize-winning guest artists from around the world, as well as a 4-concert chamber music series.
