58-year old Massachusetts woman dies after her car crashes into utility pole

At around 5:43am on Wednesday morning, Carver Police, Fire Department and emergency medical services personnel responded to a reported accident in the 240 Main St., which is part of Route 58.

Upon arrival, first-responders found a totaled gray Nissan Altima had crashed into a utility pole. The driver, a 56-year-old Carver woman, was raced by Carver EMS personnel to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth where she was, unfortunately, she was pronounced dead.

A large portion of Route 58 was closed for hours while local and Massachusetts State Police did their investigation and the scene was cleared. It took until around 2:00pm before traffic was opened to one lane.

Police are withholding the name of the deceased pending notification to the closest kin. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Carver Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
