A rollover crash at about 12:55 a.m. this morning in Auburn claimed the life of a Worcester man.

Preliminary investigation by Trooper Timothy Rafferty indicates that Carlos Mendoza, 28, of Worcester was traveling on the ramp structure from I-90 Eastbound to Route 290 Eastbound in a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder when, for reasons still under investigation, he lost control of the vehicle causing it to rollover and crash. Mendoza was transported to UMass Memorial Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section.

State Police were assisted on scene by Auburn Fire and EMS.
