Massachusetts National Guard members receive bus driver training

“Gov. Charlie Baker activated up to 250 Massachusetts National Guard members in response to requests from local communities for assistance with school transportation as the 2021-2022 school year gets underway in the Commonwealth.

Beginning on Tuesday, In coordination with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, 90 Guard members began training for service in Chelsea, Lawrence, Lowell, and Lynn to help ensure our youngest residents can get to school safely and on time.

As with any school transportation worker, all activated Guard personnel will complete vehicle training to ensure the safety of children and families.”-Massachusetts National Guard.
