Massachusetts man who allegedly crashed into Apple Store killing one, injuring 22, indicted

“A Hingham man has been indicted on charges in connection a crash at the Derby Street Apple Store that killed one person, and injured 22 others.

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says a grand jury indicted 53-year-old Bradley Rein on charges that include second-degree murder, and Motor Vehicle Homicide by Reckless Operation.

He also faces 18 counts of Aggravated Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, and four counts of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

On November 21st, 2022, Hingham Police received multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a SUV drove into the front window of the Apple Store.

Many bystanders jumped into action, making tourniquets for victims in need of urgent care. Arriving first responders transported dozens of people with serious injuries to South Shore and Boston hospitals.

Kevin Bradley, 65, of Wayne, New Jersey was pronounced dead at the scene. He was working as a contractor at the store at the time of the crash.

The indictments allege Rein was behind the wheel and drove his 2019 Toyota 4Runner into the store. He told police his foot was stuck on the accelerator pedal.

He will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.” -Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz’s Office.
