The Indigo Spa Company: Providing relaxation, comfort and respite in the heart of New Bedford

Are you one to make New Year’s resolutions? Chances are that if so, there’s something on your list related to improving health, habits, and investing in your overall lifestyle. After the buzz of the holiday craze, it’s time to put the focus on you.

If this sounds like something you can relate to, or perhaps you just want to treat yourself to something special – there is a new place in town that specializes in the proverbial “royal” treatment: The Indigo Spa Company at 26 South Water Street, New Bedford.

The cozy spa, which has a very positive, comfortable vibe is owned and operated by Brianne Gracie and Kim Tapper, accommodates both men and women and an age range from tweens and up who are looking to relax, de-stress and rejuvenate themselves. “We understand that many spa treatments are considered a luxury, however, we truly believe that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Taking the time out of our busy lives to do something good for ourselves benefits not only us, but also those around us. Take a step back, take a breath, recharge, and replenish. We believe it’s not just a luxury, but a necessity and an important part of a balanced life and healthy habits” explained Brianne.

Both feel that they are fortunate to have found careers that they are passionate about. They genuinely enjoy having a positive impact on their clients’ well-being and say it’s wonderful to be able to offer services and a space that clients can look forward to visiting.

Brianne is a Licensed Massage Therapist with over six years of experience and is certified in pre-natal and oncology massage. She is also a Licensed Cosmetologist with over eight years of experience. Brianne offers therapeutic, Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone massage, body wraps, facials, lash extensions, and nail services.

Kim is a Licensed Esthetician with over twelve years of experience and offers specialized facials including extractions when necessary, skin consultations and analysis, customized home care recommendations, professional chemical peels, full body and facial waxing, brow shaping, make-up applications and lessons.

Their equally passionate team includes the talented Jill Carty, Olivia Major and Taylor Barboza. Olivia and Taylor are both Licensed Cosmetologists and offer specialized spa manicure and pedicure treatments. They also provide customer service at the reception desk.

The incredible Jill Carty is a Peruvian Shaman, Shaman Teacher and Reiki Master. She offers Shamanic Reiki, Channeled Messages, Spiritual Counseling, Soul Retrieval, and Past Life Regression. Her energy and talents are indescribable and she lives to help people.

The positive energy that this staff exudes is contagious and that creates a warm, welcoming environment. Kim explained that the color “Indigo” in their name represents service to humanity, integrity, and deep sincerity which ties seamlessly into their overall goal and philosophy as service providers. They clearly enjoy being there, doing what they do, and working with each other and that carries over to what clients feel and experience when they walk through the door.

They take the time to cater to each person and customize that day’s treatment accordingly. For example, you will receive a facial treatment tailored to what your skin needs that day: experiencing some sort of breakout? Dehydrated? They have you covered with a variety of treatments and skin care items. Maybe something as simple as switching products could solve your issues and having someone who is an expert on skincare can save you time and money.

Many people visit the spa to relieve stress, but if you’re experiencing discomfort or tension, a warm, healing session in the Infrared Sauna combined with a massage will leave you feeling relaxed and wondering why you don’t treat yourself more often. We each respond to stress in different ways, but spa treatments in general are designed to balance your mind and body both physically and mentally. The idea is to cater each treatment to suit your individual needs. This is what The Indigo Spa Company excels at.

The relaxation benefits are obvious, but every time I personally receive a treatment, I feel so relaxed it’s as if I’m floating. When I leave I actually FEEL re-energized, refreshed and motivated to incorporate spa visits into my lifestyle more regularly. Talk about rejuvenating! The health benefits alone are priceless. You know what they say: “If you don’t have your health, you have nothing.”

In addition to these services, The Indigo Spa Co. offers: Eminence Organic skincare, spa related products, special gift wrapping, gift cards, and monthly memberships. The spa can accommodate groups, spa days and bridal parties. They are passionate about remaining current in the industry and add new products and services accordingly.

Their Facebook page is definitely worth following as you can catch all of their updates, discounts and specials. They are currently offering 15% off Finn & Co. and Youngblood products.

You don’t need to wait any longer to start a resolution like this, you deserve to invest in your wellness all year long! “Take the time to listen to your body. It’s often sending you messages such as: Slow down! Breathe! Drink more water! Strive for a work/life balance! We’re here to be a part of that journey and do what we can to help you along the way.” More wisdom from the Indigo Spa Company!
