“The Easthampton Police Department responded to a call of an injured owl.

A passerby notice the owl in the road and stopped to call us. Additional bystanders stopped including someone who had experience w/ rehabilitating owls!!

They were able to wrap the owl in a blanket and keep it warm until our officers arrived on scene.

It appeared that the owl may have been struck by a vehicle as one of the wings was injured. Officer Haley Gaudette transported the injured owl to the Safety Complex where the owl will remain until the Massachusetts Environmental Police arrive and transport the owl to a local Raptor Rehabilitation facility.

Because of everyone involved, this owl will be able to enjoy 2021!!”
