BREAKING:Posted on the Business’ Facebook page earlier today was this sad and unfortunate news:

“I would like to thank all of our amazing customers for all of your business and support. Due to the unfortunate circumstances of being diagnosed with cancer I no longer have the strength to keep my dream of Cafe Italia’ open. It has been amazing 13 years of living my dream and serving all of you that are not only customers but also have become friends. I bid you all farewell.” – Chef Nick Ricciardi.

Long considered one of the finest places to dine in the city, Cafe Italia drew quite a following and outgrew their small location in the South end. Their downtown spot had allowed them to serve many more patrons and grow the business. We wish Chef Nick, his family and employees nothing but the best, and we’ll keep him in our thoughts.
