Brockton Police arrest wanted man with loaded Glock 17 with high capacity 17 round magazine

The Brockton Police may have averted a future catastrophe when they seized a loaded firearm and several rounds of ammunition from a man wanted for an assault & battery near Arthur Paquin Way on Monday evening (12/27/2021).

Patrol Officers quickly arrived in the area for a report of a man with a gun. Detectives and a K9 unit joined the search for the gunman.

Police found 51-year-old Donnell Williams in a gray Mercedes in a driveway on L Street and placed him into custody. After getting a search warrant for the vehicle early Tuesday morning (1:20 a.m. 12/28/2021), detectives seized a stolen Glock 17 semi-automatic pistol with 17 9mm rounds. They also confiscated a Glock High Capacity 17 round Magazine from the vehicle.

Williams faces the following charges:
Charge: ASSAULT W/DANGEROUS WEAPON
Charge: WITNESS/JUROR/POLICE/COURT OFFICIAL, INTIMIDATE
Charge: A&B WITH DANGEROUS WEAPON
Charge: A&B
Charge: FIREARM, UNLAWFUL CARRY
Charge: Knowingly in possession of large-capacity weapon or feeding device
Charge: Ammunition, Unlawful Possession
Charge: RECEIVE STOLEN PROPERTY +$1200 c266 §60
