72-year old New Bedford woman arrested for dealing Fentanyl

Members of the New Bedford Police narcotics unit arrested 72-year-old Linda Alford, of 235 Ashley Blvd. Apt. 2, New Bedford, on charges of possession of Fentanyl with intent to distribute, possession of Methadone and possession of Fentanyl with intent to distribute, subsequent offense, Thursday after detectives executed a search warrant at her residence after receiving information from her neighbors about her dealing drugs from her residence.

Alford is no stranger to drug dealing. She has a history of history of selling narcotics dating back 34 years. She was sentenced to six to 10 years in prison for a 1983 conviction for dealing heroin, four to seven years in 1991 for dealing cocaine and was placed on probation in 2012 for dealing heroin.

Police executed a search warrant at 235 Ashley Blvd. Apt. 2 Thursday night and discovered Fentanyl, Methodone, packaging materials and more than $200 in currency.
