Schwartz Center Gears up for the 3rd Annual Fishing For A Cause® Tournament
The third annual Fishing For a Cause® striped bass, bluefish, and fluke catch-and-release tournament is scheduled for Friday, June 21 12:01 a.m. to Saturday, June 22 at 4:00 p.m., culminating in a celebratory awards dinner on Saturday, June 22nd from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The tournament will once again be anchored at Pope’s Island Marina, located at 102 Pope’s Island, New Bedford, with fishing grounds from Cape Cod Bay to Block Island. Fishing For a Cause® is organized by and for the benefit of the Schwartz Center for Children. The Schwartz Center is a not-for-profit organization located in Dartmouth, MA that provides comprehensive medical and educational services for children with special needs. The awards dinner will be held seaside under a tent at Pope’s Island marina. The Schwartz Center anticipates that close to 400 people will attend this year’s catered dinner, which will be prepared and served by Pepper’s Fine Catering, and feature music by the popular Providence-based band Santa Mamba. The dinner is complimentary to participating anglers and open to the public with the purchase of a ticket.

Interested anglers can register their own boat or join the Corporate or Team Challenge, whereby anglers can form a team and participate in an all-inclusive fishing charter. Trophies, prizes and bragging rights are all up for grabs, but more importantly, participation supports the mission of Schwartz Center for Children; helping children achieve their greatest potential.
