4th Annual New Bedford Fitness Challenge Kicks Off! (11:00am-3:00pm)
Seeking a fun and affordable way to get back on track with your health? Join the 4th Annual New Bedford Fitness Challenge – a fun and affordable, 6-week challenge designed to help participants get fit, lose weight, develop better eating habits, improve overall wellness, and earn some great prizes! The annual challenge engages locations citywide to offer different fitness, nutrition, and wellness classes. For a one-time registration fee of just $5.00, challengers get access to everything on the calendar! This includes aerobics and spin classes, running and rowing classes, yoga, meditation, mindfulness, martial arts, nutrition classes, health screenings, and more. CoaH New Bedford Open House (1:00pm-2:00pm)
An Open House to learn more about City on a Hill! Speak with current staff and students about the program and mission of City on a Hill – a tuition free, college prep, public charter high school that accepts students by random lottery for entry into the 9th grade. The mission is to graduate responsible, resourceful, and respectful democratic citizens prepared for college and to advance community, culture, and commerce, and to compete in the 21st century. We do so by emphasizing academic achievement, citizenship, teacher leadership, and public accountability. Lunch will be provided. Grape Stomping Saturdays! (1:30pm & 3:30pm)
Ever wanted to experience grape stomping? Now’s your chance! Grape stomping will be at 1:30pm & 3:30pm each day (indoors in our tank room). How to participate: Arrive early to purchase a ticket for $1 (cash only, proceeds go to the Newport Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.) Tickets can be purchased at the host stand when you arrive. No limit on amount of tickets purchased for a greater chance of being picked! 2 tickets will be drawn at each time slot to pick the participants! Sweetheart Stroll Beer & Wine Tasting (Taunton) (5:30pm-7:30pm)
The Trescott Street Gallery Opening Reception for the February Exhibit L-O-V-E in conjunction with the Annual Sweetheart Stroll – $5 per person allows you to enjoy a selection of hors d’oeuvres along with our beer and wine tasting as you stroll through the Gallery. After viewing the exhibit, you’ll be entered into the Sweetheart Stroll Raffle and receive a map of participating Downtown Businesses offering Sweetheart Stroll Deals and Discounts for Dinner and a Coupon Book with Valuable Savings and Promotions during the month of February.
