12 Things to do this Weekend (Jan 22 – Jan 24)

image_pdfimage_print

At the time this weekend guide is being written up the forecast hasn’t been pegged down – one camp states we will get moderate snowfall amounts somewhere around 5-6 inches, the other states we will get 12″-24″ inches. Problem is that the movement of the storm and whether it will start to head out to sea before or just after it hits us can’t be said with any certainty. I say this so that if there are substantial amounts of precipitation, you will want to call ahead to confirm that the event is still going on. Fingers crossed!

As always, click on the title for more or detailed information on the event. Most of the events were pulled from our event calendar where you can find hundreds of local area events each month. The event calendar is FREE, so if you are a local business, and not taking advantage of FREE publicity, shame on you! Are you a local business and want to sponsor this high traffic, weekend guide? Contact info@newbedfordguide.com for more details. Have an event to add? Add it here. Know of another event this weekend? Post a reply!

The Three Tenors (Who Can’t Sing) Starring Vic DiBitetto
(8:00pm)

The Three Tenors (Who Can’t Sing) stars Vic DiBitetto, now considered the godfather of comedy. DiBitetto has taken the internet by storm with tens of millions of views, multiple viral videos including “Bread and Milk,” and his own television talk show. He has toured the country, selling out clubs and theaters along the way with his murderous brand of comedy that kills audiences. Joining DiBitetto are two stand-up guys from the neighborhood, Richie Minervini and Fred Rubino, both top headliners in the Family. The three performers will bring their incredible stand-up to the stage and then sit down together for hilarious improvisation and audience participation. It’s comedy in a red sauce, an offer you can’t refuse.

Your Theatre, Inc. presents: “True West” (8:00pm)
This American classic explores alternatives that might spring from the terrain of the California landscape. The idea of the American Dream is examined as the two search for authenticity in their prescribed roles in the family. Each admits to envying the role of the other. Sons of a desert dwelling alcoholic and a suburban wanderer clash over a film script. Austin, the achiever, is working on a script he has sold to producer Sal Kimmer when Lee, a reckless petty thief, drops in. He pitches his own idea for a movie to Kimmer, who then wants Austin to junk his bleak, modern love story and write Lee’s trashy Western tale.
