Your Theatre Presents – Our Stories – Histories and Mysteries

Your Theatre is hosting “Our Stories: Histories and Mysteries” on October 22, 2016 at the playhouse located at 136 Rivet Street (corner of County St.).

The evening of entertainment will be presented in two parts: Four fascinating stories from New Bedford residents, and a competitive Story Slam with Slam Master, Rich Berg.

Act One consists of Ed Maguire’s retrospective “Your Theatre Inc., 70 Years and Counting,” Gloria Clark’s story “Doing Whatever Comes Next,” Cora Peirce’s tale “Kathitha, the Center of the Heart is Sweetest,” and Mark Fuller /Janine da Silva’s joint telling of “Martyr to Freedom.”

Act Two will be an exciting and fast-paced bout of original five-minute stories told in elimination rounds, judged by a panel of three. In Story Slams, Slammers present real life stories in competition.

Competitors will be chosen no later than midnight, October 1, 2016. Applicants should apply by email or online at the YTI web site at yourtheatre.org. Minimum age is 16 years. Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. for coffee and desserts before storytelling at 7:30. Tickets $10 adults, $5 students/seniors available at Your Theatre Inc. 508-993-0772 or email info@yourtheatre.org. No charge for participants. Performance will be held at the wheelchair accessible Your Theatre, Inc. Playhouse located at 136 Rivet St. (corner of County St.), New Bedford, at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church complex. Free off-street parking entrance is on County Street.
