Police seize stolen semi-automatic firearm, crack and heroin

This afternoon members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau teamed up with Fall River Detectives and executed a search warrant at Jackson St. in Fall River. This was after an investigation by Detective Kurt Dreher that revealed the suspect, residing in Fall River, was making heroin deliveries into the city of New Bedford several times a week.

The target of the investigation was taken into custody in Fall River without incident and brought back to New Bedford for booking. He was arraigned this afternoon in New Bedford District Court.

Seized during the raid was 10 grams of heroin, crack cocaine, $619 in cash, and a Smith and Wesson .40 caliber semi-automatic firearm. Also seized was 37 rounds of ammunition and two high capacity magazines.

The firearm was determined to have been stolen in Providence, Rhode Island in April of this year.

Angel Camacho, age 39 of Fall River faces several drug and weapons charges, as well as, a charge of receiving stolen property.

  1. That is a hi point, .40 smith and Wesson refers to the ammunition type the gun takes. Also those are not high capacity magazines, they are single stack magazines, each round is situated above the other, as opposed to double stack where the rounds are staggered, which allows more rounds to fit into the same height magazine.
