New Bedford police seize $20,000 of cocaine from Belleville Ave apartment

Last night at approximately 5pm members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed two search warrants in the city of New Bedford. After an investigation by Detective Kurt Dreher, he was able to obtain search warrants for a home on Gayhead Ct. located in the Shawmut Village Housing Development, as well as, a Belleville Ave. apartment.

The target of the search warrants was Braulio Moya who was believed to be operating a drug delivery service in the city’s north end.

drug-bust-new-bedfordAs a result of the search on Belleville Ave, narcotics detectives found approximately 756 grams of cocaine, $140 in cash, and drug packaging material. The cocaine has a street value of over $20,000 and the apartment is located directly across the street from Riverside Park.

The investigation revealed that Mr. Moya was living in the Shawmut Village Housing Development while maintaining a separate apartment in order to conduct his drug operation.

Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford District Ct.; Braulio Moya age 37 of Gayhead Ct.
