New Bedford man killed after being ejected from vehicle on 195 in Dartmouth

This morning at about 3:33 am, State Police from the Dartmouth Barracks responded to a single vehicle rollover crash on Route 195 east, east of the exit 12 in Dartmouth which resulted in a fatality.

Preliminary information collected in the investigation by Trooper Sean Hennessey indicates a 2006 Mazda 3 was traveling Route 195 east when, for reasons still under investigation, the operator and sole occupant, Carlos Santiago, 32 of New Bedford, lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to rollover onto the guardrail. As a result of the crash, Santiago was ejected and was pronounced deceased at the scene by a member of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The crash remains under investigation with assistance from members of the Bristol County State Police Detective Unit, State Police Collison Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were also assisted on scene by MassDOT.
