The Zeiterion welcomes 3-time Tony award-winning Broadway legend Bernadette Peters to its historic stage, March 30

Zeiterion Performing Arts Center is thrilled to spotlight the legendary Bernadette Peters for a dazzling evening of song from an entertainment icon. The three-time Tony Award winner, who recently starred in Broadway’s “Hello, Dolly!,” will perform selections from her award-winning Broadway outings and classic standards on Saturday, March 30, at 8:00 p.m. Tickets range from $59 to $89 and can be purchased by calling 508-994-2900, online at https://zeiterion.org/, or at the Zeiterion Box Office at 684 Purchase Street in New Bedford. Throughout her renowned career, Peters has astounded audiences and critics alike with her stunning performances spanning stage, film, television and music recordings. Her Zeiterion performance offers the rare opportunity to experience this stage and screen star in an intimate setting, as she performs show-stopping renditions of famous tunes from across her Broadway career – all backed by a full band.

The recipient of two Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Peters is widely celebrated for her prolific Broadway career. This most recently includes starring as Dolly Gallagher Levi in the hit revival of “Hello, Dolly!” and previously starring in numerous productions, such as “Into the Woods,” “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Gypsy,” Neil Simon’s “The Goodbye Girl,” and Stephen Sondheim’s Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, “Sunday in the Park with George.”

Peters has also built a national following with her impressive list of television roles, including on Amazon Prime’s “Mozart in the Jungle,” which won the 2016 Golden Globe for Best TV Comedy or Musical series. Her many additional television credits include CBS series “The Good Fight,” NBC-TV’s “Smash,” ABC-TV’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Ugly Betty,” to name a few.

Peters has further lit up the silver screen in 17 films, including “Pennies from Heaven,” “The Jerk,” “The Longest Yard,” “Woody Allen’s Alice” and many more. She has also recorded six acclaimed solo albums, including the Grammy-nominated “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight,” “Sondheim, Etc.: Bernadette Peters Live at Carnegie Hall” and “Bernadette Peters Loves Rodgers & Hammerstein,” in addition to numerous Original Broadway Cast recordings.

Peters devotes her time and talents to numerous events that benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Her “pet project” Broadway Barks, co-founded with Mary Tyler Moore, is an annual, star-studded dog and cat adoption event that benefits shelter animals throughout the New York City area. She is a New York Times Best Selling author who has penned three children’s books, Broadway Barks, Stella is a Star and Stella and Charlie: Friends Forever. All of her proceeds from the sale of these books benefit Broadway Barks. Peters resides in New York with her rescue dogs, Charlie and Rosalia.
