New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches has announced that the final opportunity for youth to sign-up and try-out for the Youth United summer basketball league will be on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Hazelwood Park basketball courts.
For access to the parking lot closest to the basketball courts, attendees are advised to use Park entrance on Brock Avenue.
The Youth United basketball league is run through New Bedford Parks, Recreation & Beaches. Created and developed by Peter Britto, this league has for many years brought the community together and allowed children to participate in a team sport at a minimal cost.
The league operates two nights during the week and games are played in New Bedford’s public parks after work hours. The cost for a child to participate in the league is $25 for the league duration.
