Westport Police Department and Fire Rescue respond to car accident involving school bus

“At approximately 3:45 PM we received numerous calls, both 911 and on the business line, reporting a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of State Road and Washington Street involving a school bus and sedan.

Police and Fire Rescue arrived and determined there were no major injuries. The school bus was occupied by Westport students, none of which were injured.

Both occupants of the sedan were transported to local hospitals for minor injuries. Traffic was shut down in this area for approximately 1 hour.

The accident remains under investigation.” -Westport Police Department.
