Westport cleanup by residents a smashing success

“Thanks to the 50 Westport and area volunteers who took time out today to help clean Westport streets of litter.

We collected 150 trash bags of roadside litter and found everything from a standup steam vac to a toilet seat with most volunteers aghast at how many nip bottles and beer cans were on the streets. (one volunteer collected 250 nip bottles alone!).

We are hoping to get the high school students involved when we do this again. Hope more will join the effort to keep Westport beautiful!”-Martin Costa.
