Wareham Police Department conducts raid, seizure of crack cocaine, cocaine, cash

On Thursday morning, December 10, Wareham Police detectives and officers, along with members of the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted a drug raid at the Village Motel, 2739 Cranberry Highway unit 4.

While attempting to enter the room officers encountered a door that was fortified with a board fastened by metal brackets. After entry was made a male occupant was secured, and a search of the room began. Officers located and seized approximately 20 grams of suspected crack cocaine, and 90 grams of suspected cocaine, $500.00 cash, and multiple other items consistent with the illegal narcotics trade.

Richard Rodriguez (44), of 2739 Cranberry Highway unit 4, was arrested and charged with trafficking in more than 100 grams of cocaine.
