Wareham police arrest two for OUI in separate car accidents on Tuesday

On Tuesday, October 30, Wareham Police arrested two individuals in operating under the influence incidents, both involving accidents. At about 4:15 p.m. officers responded to the area of 15 Onset Avenue for a vehicle that struck a pole. After an on scene investigation, Officers Charles Pillsbury and Blaise Lalli arrested Debra Scaltreto, 61, of Onset, for operating under the influence, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Later, at about 9:45 p.m. police responded to the area of 58 Main Street for a motor vehicle accident. At that scene, officers found a vehicle in the middle of the road with damage and a parked vehicle that had been struck. Officers made observations of the driver that struck the parked vehicle and placed him in custody. Officer Joseph Cardoza arrested Arnold Williams, 65, of Wareham, for operating under the influence, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

There were no injuries in either accident.
