Walk at Cornell Reservation and Frank Knowles for all New England Quakers

The public is invited to join the Quakers of New England in “A Walk to the Sea” on September 12, Noon to 4 p.m. Bring a picnic lunch and something to share at noon to the Smith Neck Friends Meeting House, 594 Smith Neck Road, South Dartmouth. The walk will take place on the 175 acres of the Trustees of the Reservation Cornell Farm as well as the Dartmouth National Resources Trust Frank Knowles/Little River Reserve. The Cornell Farm was the home for many generations of Quakers most recently Friends Russell and Marcia Cornell. The walk features a boardwalk and swinging bridge over the beautiful marshland.

This intergenerational day for appreciating God’s creation is sponsored by the Smith Neck Friends Meeting, the Sandwich Quarter Ministry and Counsel Committee, and the New England Yearly Meeting Quaker Youth Education Committee in response to a request by the Young Adult Friends of the Yearly Meeting.

Games and sports are planned for the Meeting House grounds. Take advantage of the location to visit the nearby Dartmouth Grange Fair; Dartmouth Historical and Arts Society Activities at the 1871 Russells Mills School House and tour the DNRT Historic Allen’s Mill on Slades Corner Road. The Rain date is September 26.
