Two females arrested for unarmed robbery on North Front St.

Last night a 29 year old New Bedford woman was walking on North Front St. near Holly St. when she was jumped from behind and robbed of her purse. She was not injured and the purse contained cash and personal items.

The two female suspects ran into an apartment building at 295 No. Front St. Officers Brandon Cabral and Thomas Chevalier began knocking on doors. They were met at the first floor apartment by a male who stated that two female friends had just gotten into his apartment and were in the kitchen seated at a table. Both females matched the description of the robbers and were positively identified by the victim.

Officer Chevalier conducted an immediate search of the area and discovered the victim’s pocketbook, with all its contents, inside the oven. Both females have no permanent addresses and are from the Hyannis area.

Scheduled to be arraigned this morning in New Bedford district court on Unarmed Robbery charges are:
– Robin Henry age 25
– Christina Ferreira age 28
