The US National Weather Service in Boston is reporting that the remnant of the “potent storm system” Nicole will arrive in the region Friday evening into Saturday, bringing with it significant, widespread rain, flooding, and gusty winds.

While the storm has been downgraded from a tropical storm to just a storm, the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) warns people that she will still “pack a punch. It’s never too early to prepare for a possible coastal storm.”

Anything not tied down may be swept away becoming projectiles that may cause injury or road obstructions. Flooding will affect low-lying areas, and/or be an issue for those with cellars requiring a sump-pump.
