Pack, Troop and Crew 7 the south end’s only Scouting unit is holding and Open House & Signup Night on Sept. 17 from 6:00-8:00 at Gifts to Give

Pack, Troop and Crew 7 is holding Open House and signup night on Sept. 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Gifts to Give 21 Cove St. New Bedford. Families who would like to learn more about Scouting and or are interested in joining are welcome. Scouting is an outdoor adventure program where boys (7-21) as well as young women (14-21) participate in fun and challenging activities and learn about leadership, teamwork, physical fitness, and becoming a better citizen while having fun and making lifelong memories as well as friends. Pack, Troop, and Crew 7 strives to make Scouting a fun and affordable year round program where the youth members decide the program, under the supervision of qualified adult leaders who are understanding, patient and eager to help them succeed.

Cub Scouts is open to boys ages 7-10 or in first grade, and focuses on helping boys have fun, explore, and learn by offering activities and outings. Boys are organized into dens according to age and grade and meet weekly during which they will visit new places, take part in activities such as arts and crafts, and more. Cub Scouts also attend other events including family camping, field trips, and more.

Boy Scouts is a year round outdoor program and is open to boys 11-18, completed 5th grade, or earned Arrow of Light Award in Cub Scouts. As a Boy Scout the boys will have an opportunity to choose their activities (under adult guidance and supervision) which helps them to develop their leadership, communications and team work skills, and make new friends. Troop 7 offers year round activities including camping, monster truck rallies, sporting events (P-Bruins, and Pawsox), fishing trips, and more. Boy Scouts also learn valuable skills including emergency preparedness and first aid, swimming, wilderness survival and more.

Venture Scouting is open to young men and women ages 14-20 and is a high adventure outdoor adventure program where young men and women (under 21) choose the activities that they want to participate in which helps them to develop their leadership and communication social skills (under adult guidance and supervision). Crew 7 has many exhilarating opportunities young men and women including horseback riding, fishing, camping, whitewater rafting, zip lining and more.

Visitors to Pack, Troop, and Crew 7’s Open House will be able to meet the Scouts and leaders, learn about all of the fun activities they participate in and join in on fun games, songs, and more. Pack, Troop, and Crew 7 New Bedford’s open house is scheduled for Sept. 17 from 6:00 to 8:00 at Gifts to Give, which is located at 21 Cove Street, New Bedford.
