Three City Councilors call attention to living conditions at King Village Apartments

Three New Bedford City Councilors have filed a late motion to spotlight the living conditions at King Village Apartments. The following will be addressed tonight at the New Bedford City Council session:

WRITTEN MOTION, Councillors Carney, Gomes and Dunn, requesting, that Congressman Keating, State Senator Montigny, Representative Cabral, a Representative from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Department of Housing and Community Development, walk through the King Village Apartments to immediately address the deplorable conditions that residents are forced to live in since the new ownership has taken over; and further, that the Committee on Appointments and Briefings meet with King Village Ownership and HUD Officials to discuss the environmental concerns, security measures, maintenance and building construction.

  1. They just evicted my grandmother out of these they said it was okay and piled up the rent and then brang my uncle to court for the money absolute slumlord on a different scale we had to move out in two weeks from court date my grandmother is in a nursing home
