This project is in partnership with City of New Bedford, Invest in Kids, “No Place for Hate”, the Jewish Federation Holocaust Education & Memorial Committee, and ArtWorks!. Teens ages 13-18 are invited to participate in a photography project to commemorate heroes in our schools, community and personal lives.

The project theme is “people who make a difference.” Can you think of someone who has made a positive difference in your life or other’s lives by demonstrating respect, tolerance, kindness and compassion for people? This is your opportunity to honor someone special. Learn to take awe-inspiring and captivating digital photos of your favorite hero. You can then honor your hero using creative processes that explore traditional art media and Photoshop. Digital cameras, art supplies and instruction will be provided. Your artwork will be exhibited at Tifereth Israel Congregation on April 11, 2013 during their annual Holocaust observance event. Your work will also be included in ArtWorks! Program and Outreach Exhibit in May 2013.

Classes are Friday’s from 3:30-5:30 p.m. beginning February 1- April 11, 2013 and is free for all students. To register call 508-984-1588, ask for Deb.
