UPDATED: Taunton Police investigating after 33-year old man shot sitting in his car

UPDATED at 8:09PM: A 36-year-old East Taunton man was arrested this afternoon in Fall River and has now officially been charged with murder in connection to this morning’s homicide in the City of Taunton, Bristol County District Attorney Thomas M. Quinn III announced.

Dustin Humanes has been charged with murder, carrying an illegal firearm and carrying a loaded illegal firearm.

33 year old Alvaro J. Andrade was found with gunshot wounds inside his car near 188 Winthrop Street in Taunton early Friday morning.

The Taunton Police Department released this statement following the situation:

“Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating an apparent shooting on Winthrop Street.

At 7:40 a.m. Friday, July 21, Taunton Police were dispatched to a home on Winthrop Street for a report of an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim seated in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers rendered immediate aid and the victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital with injuries that are serious and potentially life-threatening.

It was then confirmed by the District Attorneys Office that the victim is 33 year old Alvaro J. Andrade, and he was pronounced dead at 9:03 am at Morton Hospital.

The incident is currently under investigation by Taunton Police and members of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.”
